Healthy Pumpkin Spice Latte
Colors are changing; temperatures have dropped, so it’s safe to say fall has ascended. Everyone knows the moment when our favorite coffee shop unveils the new seasons drinks. Whether any of us like to admit it the Pumpkin Spice Latte reigns true as the most anticipated seasonal beverage.
Something about putting on our favorite pair of boots and a scarf paired with a sweet pumpkin latte makes any day seem inspiring. Unfortunately, most brands of our favorite coffee drink are high in calories, and cost more than we prefer to spend daily. Thankfully, there’s good news for anyone who would rather not cheat their diet and pocket those extra five dollars a day. We have a go to healthy recipe. The only compromise is sacrificing five extra minutes in the morning, but this recipe is guaranteed to be worth the time.
Son of the Beast Pro Kit
Start by adding your milk of choice and pumpkin to the pan and heat over a medium-low heat. Be sure to stir the mixture constantly with a whisk. As this begins to simmer add in your sweetener, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. Continue to whisk until frothy.
In a separate mug pour in your coffee; then top off with your frothy pumpkin mixture for a delicious treat. Best thing about this recipe is it can be modified for any diet, just substitute your sweetener and milk to suit your diets needs, and enjoy!
What You’ll Need:
- 1 cup nonfat milk (or milk of choice)
- 1 tbsp pumpkin purée
- 4 drops vanilla crème stevia, or adjusted to taste (or sweetener of choice)
- ⅛ tsp ground cinnamon
- tiny pinch ground nutmeg
- tiny pinch ground ginger
- ¾ cup extra strong coffee (or 2 shots espresso)
